Staged collisions and false claims of hit-and-run collisions are fraudulent claims. On the technical side of the investigation, the forensic engineer will focus on the physical evidence and look for any discrepancy between what the physical evidence is telling him or her and what the involved parties are saying. For example, does the appearance of the damage sustained by one car match the geometry of the other car? Does the severity of the damage sustained by one car match the severity of the damage sustained by the other car? Does the paint transfer or other deposits left on one vehicle match the characteristics of the other vehicle? Is the appearance of the damage consistent with contact with another vehicle, or with something else?
Our team will review the physical evidence and apply scientific principles to objectively determine what happened.
