Martin FournierP. Eng.
Specialty: Structural and Civil Engineering
Martin Fournier holds a degree in construction engineering from the École de Technologie Supérieure in 1997. Before joining CEP, Martin gathered experience in the field of building construction and civil engineering working as a project manager, an estimator and occasionally as a site superintendent.
As a project manager, he negotiated with subcontractors, secured contracts, managed budgets and project resources and monitored schedules. He also prepared, as needed, contractual disputes or claims. Martin gained valuable experience as a superintendent with regards to staff management, site assessment and methodology of execution.
As a forensic engineer, Martin conducts site investigations in relation to civil engineering, structures (residential, commercial, industrial and agricultural building), hydrology (watershed, flooding, drainage) municipal systems (sewer, water, electrical conduits underground, etc.) as well as the ground movement (foundations, retaining walls, landslide, etc.). His experience in the construction field allows him to analyze and comment on contractual disputes or claims and the construction methods employed. Martin also conducts studies and laboratory tests to validate his assumptions regarding the nature and cause of losses. He then prepares technical reports that he can present in court, where he has been recognized as an expert witness.
Martin has carried out over 800 investigations.
